About MyHealthScreening
MyHealthScreening is an independent Canadian health-education resource that explains Ontario screening recommendations in plain language and helps people find how to access them.
Purpose and scope
The site covers Ontario's organized cancer screening programs (breast, cervical, colorectal, lung), the provincial AAA screening program, and two topics that are individual decisions rather than population programs: PSA testing for prostate cancer and bone-health/fracture-risk assessment. It is written for people in Ontario, and Ontario program rules are used for access questions.
Independence
MyHealthScreening is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Government of Ontario, the Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, Cancer Care Ontario, or any hospital or healthcare institution. It does not carry advertising or sponsorship and does not use analytics or tracking. The organization or individual responsible for the site has not yet been publicly attributed; this page will be updated when that is confirmed.
How content is developed
Clinical information is drawn first from current Ontario program documents and Ministry of Health notices for Ontario access and funding questions, and from Canadian specialty and preventive-care guidelines for clinical questions (for example the Canadian Urological Association, the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care and Osteoporosis Canada). Where Canadian guidelines differ, the differences are described rather than hidden. Every topic page lists its sources and the date they were last checked. A maintained record of these checks is kept with the site's source files.
Review status
Source verification, technical deployment and qualified clinical review are different things. The dates on each page record when sources were checked and when the site was built. Independent qualified clinical review of the final content and decision rules has not yet been completed. If and when it is, the reviewer's scope and date will be stated here with their permission. AI-assisted drafting and testing were used in building the site; that is not a physician review.
What this site can and cannot do
The screening guide matches your answers to general published guidance. It does not diagnose, determine your individual eligibility, interpret results, or tell you whether a test is due — that depends on prior results and your clinician or program. Symptoms, screening and follow-up are different: screening is for people without symptoms; symptoms need assessment; and people already under follow-up for a condition or an abnormal result should keep to the plan set with their clinician rather than a generic web page.
